December 2007

Josh with Dad December 2007

Iowa has the most amazing ice storms. I've never seen anything as beautiful, but it is so hard to capture what it really looks like on a picture. After the storm was over there was almost 2 inches of ice covering everything.

These were the best Christmas lights I have ever seen. The ice covering the trees would glow at night if there were lights nearby. This picture cannot give it justice at all.

The day after the storm John, Josh and I went on a drive. It was amazing. Everything was covered in ice. I've never seen anything quite amazing. The sun was out and everything was glowing. The ice was also falling over everything and you heard constant cracking of the ice as it fell over trees and buildings and they were enourmous icecycles.

Josh went bowling for the first time and loved it and new what to do right away. Afterwards he played at the arcade and retended to drive a car.

Everyday that we were in Idaho. John, Josh, and I went to play basketball. Josh's favorite thing ever is basketball. He has been obsessed with the sport since he was only a few months old.

I am always impressed when John plays any sport. He is naturally gifted. I think it's amazing how high he can jump. It's hard to tell but John is about 3 feet off the ground. I can only get about 2 inches.

Our 2007 Christmas Card. All our pictures were mailed to the wrong address, so we didn't get them until the new year. So, they will be sent out late. If anyone else has late Christmas cards send them my way.

Josh's 2nd Christmas. He loved opening presents. He loved the box's just as much as the gifts and learned how to say "box". Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Stephens Josh got his favorite movie, Cinderella. He can now say "Cinderella." He even quotes a few parts from the movie. His favorite part is to quote, "Oh, that clock." He thinks it is so funny.

Christmas with the Edwards Family. When Josh opened his first gift at the Edwards, Josh exclaimed "Oh Wow!" He was so excited. He still hadn't even opened the box. Isn't great how little kids love anything and get excited over just a box. Josh got so many fun things thanks to our families.

Josh at 18 Months

November 3, 2007

Josh is an amazing kid! He loves to build with blocks. I was amazed with this tower, so I had to take a picture of it before he knocked it down.

Josh is the happiest boy. I love his smile and laugh. He is so fun and has become very cuddly, which I love.

2007 Family Photos

These are some of our fall family pictures. My friend Rachel took them and did an awesome job! John thought it was hilarious to put Josh on the top of a sign. Josh thought it was funny too, but I was scared that Josh would fall. He did jump off one time and I screamed and ran a caught him, Josh was laughing so hard, though of course I did not think it was funny.

Here's the picture of him about to jump off, he thinks he is so funny.

Trip to Utah (continued)

So, I'm really behind in this blogging thing. I hope to catch up soon. We did so much and took way too many pictures this summer.
Visiting Josh's Great Grandma Edwards in Salt Lake City!
John, John(John's dad), Gary(John's brother)
They finished the entire race 110 miles. It took them pretty much the entire day. John did this race with his dad last year, maybe it will become a tradition.

John and I at the Ulcer Bike Race. I rode 33 miles. I started at Thanksgiving Point rode along Utah Lake for most of it and finished in Springville. It was a beautiful ride, I miss the mountains. It wasn't easy especially since I hadn't been on a bike since before I had Josh.

Reunited with Josh after Lake Powell. I missed him so much!

So, if you can't tell I'm way behind in my blogging, we've been out of town so much lately. My Grandma passed away in August, we went to Lake Powell, Idaho, and Utah to visit family. In September we went to Indianapolis to visit John, Melanie, Halie, and Kate Hiener, and we just got back a week ago from Utah again. John's Grandfather passed away and we flew out for the week to the funeral and to be with family. I'm trying to catch up. It is fun to reminisce about the summer! I love summer, I can't believe it's already gone. It been a fun summer, but very sad to loose our Grandparents. We miss them so much!

Lake Powell August 2007

Ahhhh Lake Powell! It is our favorite place in the whole world. Isn't it beautiful. We only had a day and a half at Lake Powell when we were supposed to have three days originally. It was one of our funnest trips probably because we lived it up the whole trip and we didn't have to worry about Josh(he was with my family in Idaho). Our plans changed when my grandmother (who is the most amazing woman) passed away the day before we flew out to Utah, so we were in Idaho for her viewing instead of Lake Powell. I miss her sooooo much!!!!!! It has been hard, but I'm grateful to have the gospel and know that she is happy right now and that she can now be with her husband and other family members that have passed on.
My HOT Husband!!!
Lake Powell and the Water Weiney(sp)
I like the water weiney, but I'm afraid to get hurt because every time I get really hurt. So, if I'm on a tube it has to go really slow. My passion is slalom waterskiing, there is no better feeling as gliding on the water and I love that it is hard work!
It's so fun to watch John and his brothers (Gary, Nate, & Scotty) and sister(Becca) on the water weinie. They have so much fun and are the biggest goof balls, it's hilarious. They do all sorts of tricks like doing flips off the weinie to playing leap frog. This is a picture of me (Marie) waterskiing, can't you tell :). John took several pictures and all of them were blurry. Take a look at the pictures of John waterskiing, they're actually in focus, well at least you can tell that it is John.
