Residency Programs

Many of our friends and family have been asking about where we are going for Residency and when we'll know, so here's the update!

John interviewed at several schools; the ones that we've liked the most are as follows:
Duke (Durham, North Carolina)
University of Utah (Salt Lake City, Utah)
University of Indiana (Indianapolis, Indiana)
Mayo Clinic (Rochester, Minnesota)
Cleveland Clinic (Cleveland, Ohio)
University of Michigan (Ann Arbor, Michigan)
University of Florida (Gainesville, Florida)

Here are the other schools that I forgot to add to this original post until today (January 22):
University of Colorado (Denver, Colorado)
University of Wisconsin (Madison, Wisconsin)
University of Illinois (Peoria, Illinois)
Washington University (WASH-U) (St. Louis, Missouri)
University of Iowa (Iowa City, Iowa)

It is going to be such a tough choice to decide what to rank these programs and then the match process will ultimately decide where we will go!

We send our Rank List by February 25th and we find out where we Match on March 17th (I think that's the correct date)

If anyone knows anything about living in any of these places (we will live there for about 7 years, which seems like such a long time) call me or leave a comment or if anyone knows anything about the neurosurgery program themselves.  We've got to do a lot of homework on these residencies.

Don't know much about living in Cleveland, but the Cleveland Clinic is a nice facility. Dave has gone there to have some preliminary work done for his upcoming surgery on his Achalasia. We are headed back there in a couple of weeks for his surgery. Good luck with deciding!

I am living in Ann Arbor, and we love it! The winter has been so so cold but the city is AMAZING, and so is the ward!

Marie-
The DUnns think for sure you should rank Utah #1 because it's the closest to us and ya 7 years is forever!
I will have to show Jimmy the list and see if he knows anything about any of them. It is such an exciting time we loved Match Day and the whole anticipation leading up to it. Good luck!
